About us
The amateur sports’ association, Indomita Valtellina River ASD, was founded in 1994 by a group of friends united by the passion for nature and wild-water sports.
Indomita has grown thanks to the commitment of its technical staff and the enthusiasm of the many members and friends who, in these past 12 years, have got together within the association, making it become a provincial point of reference for river water sports not just at a competitive level but also for tourists.
Legally and officially recognised as a navigating company of FIRAFT, Federazione Italiana Rafting, , Italian Rafting Federation, and associate to F.I.C.K, Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation, Indomita now boasts qualified canoe instructors and rafting guides. There are many youngsters, members of Indomita who, as amateurs, have obtained excellent results at a regional and national level.

Rafting excursions
Indomita Valtellina River organises excursions in rubber dinghies along the River Adda between Stazzona (Villa di Tirano) and Castione.
-Vineyard descent: leaving from Stazzona (Commune of Villa di Tirano), arrival at Chiuro. 13 kilometres suitable for all and valid as a first approach to rafting to cover in about two hours through suggestive and unknown tracts of the River Adda. From here it’s possible to see the Rhaetian versant with the famous vine-terracing of Valtellina. In the descent, there are rapids of average difficulty.
-Ancient Bridge descent: leaving from Chiuro and arriving at Piateda. 7 kilometres of pure adrenalin through the famous rapids of Boffetto that present a grade III and IV difficulty. An interesting excursion from a cultural and panoramic point of view.
-The Grey Heron descent: leaving from Piateda and arriving at Castione at the Indomita Valtellina River nautical base. 11 kilometres immersed within nature, that of the naturalistic Oasis of the Bordighi woods. Here it’s possible to observe characteristic protected species of the riparian habitat. Also nearby it’s possible to see numerous examples of grey herons, dippers, mallards and the very rare kingfisher.
-Seven Bridge Descent (Complete descent): leaving from Chiuro and arriving at Castione, 20 kilometres of close contact with the river and all its beauty.

-Birthdays: A wonderful Birthday treat, original and involving, made up of a day or night excursion and some of the best localities of the Adda river. You will pass though woods, streams and breathtaking views...
-Stag party: A beautiful night excursion to pass the last night of being single, for your best friend in a different and enjoyable way.
-The wine road: Read Vineyard descent with a visit of the many wine making localities (link: http://www.valtellinaincoming.it/it/tempolibero_viniecantine.htm ) leaving you the possibility to taste and buy.
-The midnight moonlight descent.
-Adventure: QUAD + RAFTING Try an unforgettable adventure on board the rubber dinghies of rafting, travelling down the rivers as fearless explorers with 2 hours of driving in Quad ( link http://www.valtellinaincoming.it/it/sport_quad.htm) on a dirt path off-road. Without sacrificing inevitable stop on a farm, to know more closely in our dishes Valtellinese!
-Taylor Made: Ability to customize various excursions according to your preferences and characteristics
The experience is open to schools and study trips.
Period: From April to November
We recommend to book the experience at least one week before the preferred date.
All the necessary equipment is provided by the association (wetsuit, helmet, lifejacket), all that is needed is swimsuit and trainers.
The association stipulates an insurance policy for each participant to its excursions and courses.
Each descent is accompanied by professional guides.
